Great game, redvers outshot macklin by a substantial margin, mohakws goalie was hot. One post for redvers and a cross bar for macklin, both in ot. Was a well paced even matched game. Theres a reason both games went into overtime. Cant wait to see tomorrows outcome. Maybe the mohawks bus legs will be gone....or maybe the rockets wont celebrate tonight.

Shots 62-28 in Favour of Redvers so far I think the guys in the penalty box had a sticky finger on the SOG for redvers… usually you want to make your home goalie look great but I beg to differ 62-28… more like 50-40 ish puck was in macklins end 75% of the game

A simply great game in Redvers last night and Macklin was exactly 2 minutes away from winning the Provincial "D" banner. The Mohawks scored 9 minutes in on a rather sloppy one and led 1-0 after one. Minutes into the second, Kenton Miller tied it up with after sustained pressure in the Mohawk zone with a wrister from the point. Shortly thereafter, the Mohawk top line of #91 McKinnon, #18 Bast, and #17 Houcher had a great forechecking shift and were aptly rewarded with a wraparound goal making it 2-1 after two. Starting the third, Rocket Coach Potapinski again mixed up his lines with Kopeck centring the two Rocanville imports, Howie and Regel. Drew Hoff joined Jordon and Kenton Miller. The third line of Fiderchiuk, Magotiaux and Poirier remained intact and played well in this game, With six to play and loads of pressure, Macklin iced the puck at least six consecutive times. After what I think was the seventh icing in a row, and with just over 2 minutes to play, Kopeck had another of his many face-off wins and the puck went back to blue liner Brady Gaudet. His floating wrister from the point found the twine and it was 2-2 after regulation. Macklin played well in the first ten minute overtime and applied their greatest sustained pressure. With exactly one minute to go, Redvers Rocanville pickup Brent Hope hauled down a Mohawk in the front of his net and likely saved the game. I thought it could have and should have been a penalty shot but only a 2 minute minor was called for for tripping. Redvers killed off this penalty one minute into the second overtime and then regained their momentum. A few minutes later, top defenseman #22 Colton Waltz had the puck on his own blue line. Kenton Miller swooped in, fought for the puck, stole it, and punched it in past a startled Martin and the Rockets had won the game. Final shots on goal were 64-29 although in fairness many the Redvers shots were easily handled by Martin. Bauche played well between the pipes for Redvers. Both teams hit a couple of posts in this game. Estimated crowd 800, pot of gold was $3,060. won by a happy Redvers home fan. Final game is today at 3:00 p.m. before a packed house. I have to go with Redvers as they are now heavily favoured and can continue to dress their three Rocanville pickups. It's been a great season for senior hockey in Southeastern Saskatchewan but alas it all ends today. See you at the rink!

At the game in Macklin Redvers goalie played solid enough to win the game. special teams hindered Redvers, terrible Pk. Terrible PP. They also had this big useless guy playing constantly even though he did score a goal he was too slow to get down the ice with his wingers. Redvers had a guy who came out flying and landed a few big hits, but he was the only one hitting so when he was not on the ice it was Macklin out matching Redvers physically. Baier and Waltz played phenomenal on the back end defensively and creating offense and let's not forget how stellar of a game Martin Had in net! I think Redvers was missing a few guys they had picked up so maybe that takes that big slow guy out of the line up and adds some talent but as far as I can see this is the Mohawks Year! Should be a good game 3. Thought this post aged well. Last night in OT baier and Walz looked hilarious both sprawled out on the ice for the game winner after a walz tunrover.
