Grenfell wins game 1 by a 7-2 score.
Wadena on the phone with Grenfell to see where they buy their tires as they definitely held on with lots of tread left over

Grenfell showed what happens when Outlook doesn’t have pyett and Stephenson on the blue line. Plant was exposed from the start. Shots were around 49-39 Outlook I believe. Grenfell played a good game. If outlook shows up with a full squad it’s going to be a great game 2 I think but they’re going to have to find more ways to beat Kilgore which isn’t an easy task.

I can’t believe no one is talking about this game. From the “Superleague” talk to the “Outlook” will dominate talk. Suffice it to say the score may be surprising to some but when this happened with Drake vs Southey there was 5 pages of talk. Not saying Grenfell was as big of an underdog. It’s obvious that Tenders make or break teams. Again just surprised this isn’t “blowing up”.

My take:
Grenfell was missing Kilback and Douglas plus a couple other players off the roster I believe. Their D is solid. Think they ran 13 players and they all play a hard game. They came out fast and finished every check all game.
Outlook missing Stephenson and Pyett hurt them. Keller played D most of the game and their forwards didn't seem to have the jump they did vs Wadena. A couple bad turnovers to guys in the high slot cost them a couple goals, but if their Goalie doesn't get dialed in it will be tough for them to win game 2 or the series.
Hoping it goes 3 games and we see full lineups on both benches to decide it.

I only saw Outlook once all year. I felt goaltending would be the thing that sunk their ship.

Provincials in general have been pretty wild. Not just this series but lots of them where people are predicting a team with "win in 2 easily" but it turns out quite the opposite. Just an all around great time of year.
