Senior teams face huge costs for officials. They charge enough to get in. Fans deserve a minimum number of players to show up or fans will stay away. Any leagues have fines if you come with less than 2 lines? SPHL has something about 10 guys or a fine. I'm not sure if it's ever been enforced

The game gets played and doesn’t screw up the schedule. Fans don’t know if a team is coming with 8 or 18.

Thinking that would have been a real exciting game with 8 players. That is what I am getting at. I want to watch a game.

8 skaters is pretty rough for this early in the season. And a Saturday night game at that.

I would think nothing came of it, looks like an Oxbow has been rolling out the same roster. They’re going to be a handful for a lot of teams.
Arcola has currently given up 45 goals in 4 games and only scored 6. Could be a looooong winter for them.

Hopefully Arcola sticks with it. Can’t be fun losing like that.

There going to have to delete 1 forsure. Very ironic considering they were one of the teams that wanted the import rule.🤡

As one of the teams that pushed for the import rule, and the league president at the time the rule was put in, it is hilarious to see Oxbow unable to understand how the import rule operates. That being said, the league should consider doing away with the import rule for next season with teams like bienfait and yellowgrass struggling for numbers. Do we not want the league to be the best it can be? Would rather see proven teams like the coalers, wheat kings and mustangs be able to ice competitive teams rather than cater to teams that dont attempt to improve their team from one year to the next.

Leauge needs to look at this rule and consider a serious change or we're going to have teams leaving. I get some teams won't want to scrap them but they do need to consider a radius rule where a guy living within x amount of range of the town he's playing for doesn't count as an import. These rules cause more headaches then they solve. People always complaining about what's an import and what's not etc. This rule benefits few and is a hassle for most.

I would go a step further and establish a boundary around the league. If you reside within the area you are not considered an import for any team. Including estevan and weyburn. Have as much talent living in the area playing in the league as possible. If teams cant agree on that then have 3 “local import” spots for guys within the boundary with no ties to the town they play in. And then have 3 “elite imports” for elite guys coming from outside the boundary.

Is not 6 elite imports enough? The Big Six allows as many imports as you want they just can’t be elite. You can have as many Junior B,Junior C Midget double A,Midget Triples A as you want. I do not think you want the teams hovering around Weyburn and Estevan stocking up withRed Wings an Bruins and not entering A provincials and just playing league. I give the teams in the QVHL credit they all go in A provincials.

There's not major centres like regina around the big 6. Carnduff can move guys in no problem for a job and stack a team but it's not ok for other teams to stack up if they want. Elite's now a days are going to go where the money is, they don't care about much else. Gabrielle in Wawota is an example Of that. Why are we so worried about where these guys play and more worried about teams being good. More elites allowed in the league the better the hockey will be.
