Have they EVER had ANYTHING to do with senior hockey 50/50’s?? If they try involve themselves just deny. It’s all here say. There’s no receipts or transactions for a 50/50. Cash money baby. Gov can’t track cash.

Carlyle came out dirty and Wadena didn’t fall into that crap. Good win wadena. Refs were pretty iffy too.

I think the games will be fairly close but wadena in 2 you will not beat the cougars on Home ice and they will squeak out a game in wadena in overtime also to win the title Can’t wait until this cougars fanboy guest account gets home from the game and starts dishing out the excuses

It was a great game in Carlyle tonight before an estimated crowd of 850. One minute in, #61 Jesse Gabrielle pops in a fat rebound from a point shot and the Cougars led by 1. It didn't last long. 5 minutes later, Carlyle started to run into penalty trouble. Two quick goals by #7 Melrose and #12 Statchuk and it was 2-1 Wildcats. #23 McDermott scored a pretty back door power goal (I thought #10 Dyck scored it) and Wadena led 3-1. Cougars finally got their first power play call with 20 seconds left in the first. Score 3-1 shots 16 to 6. Five minutes into the second, Gabrielle retrieved a puck from a point shot and scored from the zamboni door making it 3-2. #6 Scheschuk took a 4 minute kneeing penalty and after another foul #18 Czerwonka scored on the p.p. and it was 3-3, and 3-3 after two. It was an interesting third period to say the least. With #68 Cote off for holding, Jesse had a breakaway one minute into the third with Wildcat goaltender #30 Martin stoning him. Seconds later, #11 Reddick with another short-handed breakaway and again Martin slammed the door. With 10 minutes to go, Carlyle is awarded another power play and disaster struck. #21 Leach scores on a weak wrister shorthanded and it was 4-3 Wildcats. With five to play, Carlyle started to pinch. With 90 seconds left, Wadena has a breakaway and was awarded a penalty shot on the takedown. But Cougar #35 Winter slams the door with a great save.
With 38 seconds left, Gabrielle fires a shot from the high slot which almost goes under Martin's armpit, but it doesn't. With Carlyle pulling their net minder, there was a goalmouth scramble with #29 Gaudet just missing an open net with 3 seconds to play. The final 4-3 Wadena. Final shots on goals 34-19.
Wadena has a good solid team with a great power play. Frankly, I thought Grenfell had the higher end talent (I watched them 5 times in two weeks.) but it is a team game and the Wildcats are just like that. No weak players and they clear the zone smoothly and without effort. Carlyle could beat this team, but winning two straight in Wadena will be tough.
As indicated above, the pot of gold was massive and won by a Carlyle Cougar local . I thought the reffing was fair with only a couple of ticky tack calls. There were a lot of crushing hits in this game, usually initiated by the Cougars.

Not overly talented but they work real hard, have good habits and play as a team. They are relentless in the back check and worked for the very deserving result they got tonight. Wish I could make the games in Wadena. If there’s a live stream of the games, would appreciate if someone posted it here. Game 2 should be a great one
