My prediction isn't about this year, but about the leauge going forward... I predict Moosmin Carlyle and Redvers leaves for the SEHL (more competition) Kipling and wawota fold/take leaves Midale leaves for the Notakue Carnduff oxbow and Bienfait (if they don't fold as well) are 3 teams left looking for teams to come play. I could maybe see Moosomin moving but there's no chance Redvers and Carlyle would move. Carlyle would be 1 hour and 30mins away from rocanville and would be 2 hours and 23 mins away from Ituna, (both teams are in the south division so they would have to play each other twice). not even to mention how far they would have to drive to some of those far north teams, both Swan River and Preeceville are 3+ hours. I couldn't see teams being ok with having to drive that far for games. |

Their locals suck anyways they went years not winning any games and were close to folding many times because they sucked. At least they will add some competition for redvers and carmduff this year. |

Their locals suck anyways they went years not winning any games and were close to folding many times because they sucked. At least they will add some competition for redvers and carmduff this year. A couple over exaggerations in this post. More locals on that roster than people think. Even if they aren’t their stars they do a nice job of filling that roster out. And I can’t say for sure, because I don’t follow carlyle that closely, but I don’t think they were ever embarrassingly bad. Solid team by the looks of things this year. Good for them. That league needed more competitive teams. Too many easy games in that league with Wawota (lately), midale, kipling, and arcola. |

Great game in Carlyle tonight (Friday) with the defending league champion Rockets defeating the Cougars in an exciting shootout. Period scores were 1-0 Carlyle and 3-2 Redvers. It was an exciting third period. One minute in, newcomer Nikita Kovalenko tied the game at 3. Preston Kopeck made it 4-3 Redvers with six to go only to have Carlyle respond a minute later with Jonny Gaudet tapping in a Jesse Gabrielle wrist shot. With 4 to play, Redvers was charged with a penalty and seconds later called for another.(A cheap one in my opinion..) It was a full 5 on 3 Cougar power play for 90 seconds but goalie Thomas Bauche withstood the tremendous pressure. Tied at 4, the 5 minute overtime solved nothing and here are the shootout results:
Redvers - Kenton Miller, NO, Carlyle Kovalenko NO,Redvers Kopeck SCORE, Carlyle Morrisseau NO, Redvers Jordon Miller SCORE. Final 5-4 Rockets in a shootout.
Shots ended up 49-34 Carlyle which is a bit misleading, Redvers played a strong second period, Carlyle was better in the first and final frame. Coby Morrisseau was the Cougar game star. Preston Kopeck snd goaltender Bauche played great for the Rockets. Redvers are still the defending league champs and will be tough to dethrone. Carlyle has a better squad than last year, but are still a bit weak defensively. Veteran forward Ben Johnstone played defence the entire game. Both teams have loads of firepower.
Estimated crowd close to 500. Very cleanly played with little rough stuff. Pot of gold of $1725.00 was won by a fan from White Bear. The pot was not "sweetened" by a sponsor.

A cougar fan told m last nite they r adding another D man so they can get johnstone back up on the forward line that will help there firepower with 4 good forward lines and 6 d men. The 2 Ochap players Valdez and kinistino don’t seem to kn that there’s ice in now and the season has started 🤷🏼🤷🏼🤷🏼🤷🏼
