I feel bad for Butte but at the same time I don't. They aren't the first team struggling to get bodies out and they won't be the last. They committed to a schedule already so time to start working the phones to get some bodies out and assess the situation in the summer.

It’s unfortunate that Butte had to cancel, but it’s not the end of the world. Despite all the money that is being tossed around in this league, people need to remember that this is just senior hockey. It’s NOT pro hockey. This game is meant to be fun. Heading into arguably the best team in the province, with only a handful of players or navigating treacherous conditions, is not fun for anyone. If you’re outraged over the cancellation, ya’ll need to relax.

was just told that Butte has folded. Hope not… not great for the league losing 2 teams this year and one mid season. Very sad to see Butte have no team in a hockey town. Hope they are back next year.

Any chance the league is looking into rescheduling in some extra games for the remainder of the season. Such as loreburn gets an extra game or 2 in Davidson, outlook or Kenaston. Something close to home if possible.

Edit* Each team in the east division will play each team in the east division three times. No change to the crossover games against the west division teams

Really too bad. I always did very well at the Elbow bar VLTS on my way to and from watching games in Butte.

So you’re saying that because senior hockey pays some players, take slappers , and we occasionally throw a body check. That it’s not for fun. The entire reason for playing in this league is win provincials, preferably A. This is exactly why senior hockey is on the decline.

Grabbing a bucket of buttered popcorn and hanging out on my recliner. Where oh where does Kehoe end up?

He’s probably lived 119 km away from Kenaston at some point. Sounds like another local to me.

So much jealousy towards the champs. Must be frustrating when a little town can use the system and build a powerhouse. Work hard getting sponsorship and then have guys to play for under market due to the proximity to the city and their success. I’m sure the window is closing there. Tough to keep that team running with almost zero minor hockey pipeline. But on one of the best runs a senior club has had.
Kenaston actually has an import spot open. I think Durrand played as a favour when they were short bodies. Zero chance Kehoe is a Blizzard. They could have had him years ago but went another direction. He’s too hot headed for them.
