Yes, an exciting game before an estimated 350 or so. Period scores 2-1 Redvers after one and 3-3 after two. Shots on goal 20-12 after one, 44-23 after two, and a whopping 62-33 after regulation. Carlyle only had 5 D dressed and were fortunate as Meger outgoaltended Bauche in this one. Both teams had brutal giveaways at their own blue lines and snipers like Kopeck and Johnstone took full advantage. Rockets were missing Brady Gaudet due to suspension. Really exciting shootout after a great 5 minutes of 4 on 4 overtime, Kopeck, stoned, Johnstone, stoned, Kenton Miller, goalpost, Jonny Gaudet, beautiful backhand goal, Went down to Jordon Miller and the puck trickled off his stick. Cougars win a thriller. Kopeck was the best Rocket on this night and their vaunted power play was awesome. Fortunately for the Cougars, they didn't have many p.p. advantages.(scored on 2 out of 4) Best Cougars tonight were Benny Johnstone, Tayson Holt, and Jonny Gaudet. Carlyle needs at least one, and possible two, more stud defensemen to compete with Redvers and Moosomin, especially in a best of five series. They do have a good goaltender though and frankly Curtis Meger is likely the best tender in the Big Six right now. He just can't be facing 20 shots a period on a regular basis. I would hope he is the best goalie in the league at $600 a game. Pretty much $1200 most weekends, around $3600 to $4800 a month if you do the math. Carlyle pretty much paying this man more we make working full time jobs, and his is under the table tax free! |

Josh Romank and niki kovilinko haven’t played a game for the cougars this yr and both on the roster wonder why that’s about 🤷🏼🤷🏼🤷🏼 Could b work related I guess not sure where they work but seems strange that they would not played at least one game but it’s senior hockey and you never know about these guys maybe they’re holding out for the big bucks also 😃😃😃

Well these days 600 a game is not a big deal if you’re going to enter in provincials and you don’t have a top eng goalie you might as well not even enter senior hockey is all about paid players no matter what league you’re in And every town is doing it to save their rinks without senior hockey rinks do not make it in these small towns I am all for paying players so we’ve got decent hockey to watch 🤙🤙🤙

Well niko missed most of last season cuz he couldn’t stay healthy so i guess not a big loss anyway if u cant stay healthy and show up for games no one wants u on there team anyway

One thing about paying top. dollar for players u soon find out that the elite players r interested in
Playing for and they will b calling u to see if I r loking that way u wont have trouble fielding a great team every yr. 🤙🤙🤙

Does anyone know the story with Kovalenko? Rumour I have heard is that he has informed the team he would like a release and the Cougars are refusing to release him but also will not dress him for games now. Something possibly about wanting the transfer money they had to pay returned to them first, seems a little shady to me but also is right in stride with the way they run down there.

Sounds to me like he wants some easy money to play if I remember from last yr he missed more games them
He played he’s not worth paying if he can’t show up all the time just another lazy free loader wanting paid to do nothing teams find out about that real quick and want nothing to do with those kind of players
