Well, here we come, this best of three South Final starts this Saturday night 7:30 p.m. in Grenfell. A lot of storylines early. Carlyle is healthy and out of the Big Six Playoffs. No doubt their veteran team including their imports will be ready. What will Jesse Gabrielle be like? He played a couple of games with the Spitfires two years ago. Can his explosive personality be controlled in this series? And Grenfell, they will be playing a QVHL Semi-final game this week against Lumsden. How healthy are they? Any chance with King or Ruopp coming back.? Is goalie Kilgore OK? Should it be the refs from the Q for game one, Big Six for games two and three in Carlyle the following weekend? Both Grenfell and Carlyle have great facilities and should be packed to the rafters. Be sure to come out and support some great senior hockey!

King. Ruopp. Kilgore. Without them, no chance. Especially Kilgore.

They are still a strong team without those 3. Schneider Kyle and Isaac on the back end, Kilback, Foster, harbor, Fowlie up front.
I think the problem is that Carlyle is so loaded up, without those 3 it’s a very uphill battle. Let’s put it this way, if Grenfell beats Carlyle without one of the top sr goalies in the province, one of the best shutdown D in the province and arguably their best scorer in team history, they are gonna earn it and deserve a lot of praise.
Only time will tell

Are those guys out long term? Or is it possible they come back to play in series?

Only time will tell Ya I’d say spits are going in as underdogs. That might be their biggest advantage. They’re also no stranger to playing with a short bench. Kilgore hurts though. He can steal games. They can play a nice team game though and if they stay out of the box they have a shot.

Jessica Gabrielle is worth every penny the Cougars pay him. Guys a game changer. Best senior player in the province by far, just needed a little help from the rest of the boys. [br Hahahahaha I can feel your sarcasm through the phone. Guy didn’t stop yappin all game and that 10 minute misconduct in the third down 1 REALLY helped them out tonight!

4-1 Grenfell final. Grenfell controlled the play for a good portion of the game. Kilgore solid. Forward group is relentless on the puck and 3rd line provided great minutes for a depleted, tired team. Good team win. Kyle, Fisher,Bird, Hollinger and Isaac playing nice hockey for the Spits right now. Rose and Shaw were Carlyle’s best all night. Thought Valdez Bear looked good. They are talented. Will be a good game 2. Best crowd Grenfell has seen in many years. Awesome atmosphere.

I think he likes the attention he gets from sitting in the box more than if he were to score a goal. Im sure if they told him that he could play shirtless that he would be on that like… a back pimple on a bodybuilder.

Hi hockey fans I totally agree with Hooper. 4-1 final but the game was exciting right down to the wire. 1-1 after one with Kilgore in net. 5 minutes into the second Cougar goalie Audet appeared to pull his groin and left the game. Kulyk came in and played well the rest of the way. 1-1 after two and 2 minutes into the third Haylock on a hard working forecheck from behind the net. Four minutes later, another forecheck goal by Harbor and 3-1 Spitfires with 14 minutes to go. Seconds after the 3-1 goal, Carlyle appeared to score a tip-in deflection which was immediately deemed to be with a high stick. Jesse Gabrielle received a 10 minute misconduct for disagreeing and didn't come back until there was 4 minutes to play. Empty netter made the final 4-1.
Both teams played well but Grenfell played a little bit better. They were missing Schneider on the point. Cougars rolled only 4 D but also played well. Cougar third line of Shaw Rose and Turgeon was their best. The other two lines held pointless.
Estimated crowd I would say was 800. $3,800.00 pot of gold won by the sister of Kruise Reddick of Kenosee Lake. Will be a big crowd in Carlyle Friday night.
